My initial plan was to wear something floral, as I mentioned in my previous post ‘Wedding Guest Outfit Ideas‘. But in true Brooke fashion, I changed my mind last minute.
I went with a black off the shoulder romper, with a long, sheer maxi overlay. The maxi overlay and the ruffle sleeve gives the outfit a soft look and movement to the dress.
I wasn’t sure about wearing black to a wedding but I figured because it’s winter, I could get away with it.
As usual, I had over thought things, a lot of people were wearing black. I went with some black strappy heels and a flesh-toned clutch to accessorise. I also wore a camel jacket which was a necessity due to the chilly Melbourne weather.
I kept my makeup simple, youthful and dewy looking but glammed up my look with some liner and false lashes.
I wore some beautiful embellished earrings, a Swarovski bracelet and a couple of rings including my engagement ring (of course). To try and dress up the black romper but keep the outfit looking elegant.
The most important thing was that I felt confident and comfortable in what I was wearing. I didn’t wear overbearing heels and I didn’t go with the dress I wasn’t 100% confident or comfortable in (last minute decision).
I always love a good excuse to dress up and do experiment with makeup. It was a beautiful evening, that had me teary-eyed more than once. There’s nothing better than spending time with friends and family and sharing in some beautiful memories.
