SIMPLE POACHED PEAR PROTEIN DESSERT / BREAKFAST RECIPE

There’s something about enjoying poached pears during winter that tastes like Christmas.

I gently poach them in a light cinnamon syrup with hints of spice and warm undertones of honey. Poached pear is my favourite dessert or breakfast spooned over protein yogurt and oatmeal.

SIMPLE PACHED PEAR PROTEIN DESSERT / BREAKFAST RECIPE

POACHED PEAR PROTEIN INGREDIENTS

  • 1-2 pears
  • 1 tsp stevia
  • 1/2 cup of yogurt
  • 1 scoop of protein
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • Oats
  • Cinnamon sugar or honey

POACHED PEAR PROTEIN METHOD

  1. Place 4 cups of water, the cinnamon stick & stevia in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring to the boil then reduce heat to medium-low.

  2. Add pears and cook, partially covered for 20 minutes or until pears are tender. Remove from heat & allow pears to cool in syrup.

  3. Mix yogurt, protein powder & oats together and place pears on top.
  4. Sprinkle some cinnamon sugar or drizzle honey on top and enjoy!
