Is waking up feeling refreshed even possible? Apparently, it is, yay!
It’s important for me to wake up feeling refreshed so I can make the most of my day, and it should a priority for you too.
Here are 5 tips to sleep better and wake up feeling refreshed.
1. NO CAFFEINE OR ALCOHOL BEFORE BED
Wake up feeling your best by avoiding alcohol and caffeine consumption before bed.
It will help reduce restlessness and waking up to go to the toilet during the night.
2. AVOID SNOOZING
Whilst those extra 10 minutes of sleep may seem vital at the time, studies have shown that it’s easier to wake up the first time.
As soon as you’re alarm goes off, sit up, open the curtains and have a big drink of water.
You just went 6-8 hours without water, you are dehydrated girl!
3. STRETCH IN THE MORNING
If you’re like me and can’t convince yourself to wake up to exercise in the morning, light stretching is a great way to wake up your body.
It will get the blood flowing to your brain so you can start functioning properly.
4. ENJOY A REFRESHING SHOWER
Starting your morning with a cool, refreshing shower will not only wake you up but is great for your skin and hair.
Having a cool shower is also time efficient because you won’t want to be there for too long.
5. EAT BREAKFAST IN THE MORNING
If I know I have a delicious breakfast or coffee waiting for me downstairs, I get excited to wake up in the morning.
By not eating breakfast, you are communicating to your body that your day hasn’t started yet.
Tip: if you eat early morning your body will become used to this and wake you up early for food!
6. DEVELOP HEALTHY HABITS
Waking up feeling refreshed is also about having a positive attitude. Being thankful for a fresh new day to achieve your goals.
Remember the more you do these things, the easier it will become as you get into a routine.
